Hinterher fällt mir immer was ein...

Heute war "Nacht der Informatik". Viele Vorträge und Vorführungen und ein Zwiegespräch "Pro&Contra" mit Publikumsbeteiligung. Ein Diskussionspunkt war - natürlich - die zunehmende Überwachung des (halb-)öffentlichen Raumes.
Irgendwann ergriff der Moderator des Abends das Wort und redete pro Kamera-Überwachung: "Es ist erwiesen, dass an überwachten Orten die Kriminalitätsrate signifikant sinkt. Ich bin froh, dass meine Tochter keine Umwege mehr nehmen muss."
Ich wusste genau, dass das so nicht ganz in Ordnung ist - aber warum, das fiel mir natürlich wieder erst hinterher ein: natürlich sinkt die Kriminalitätsrate nur an den überwachten Orten - an allen anderen steigt sie entsprechend, denn kriminelle Energie sucht sich ihren Weg.
Wär' mir das bloß rechtzeitig eingefallen... Chance vertan, Mist, blöder.
